A Smokey camphorfest right here!
A new favourite for Mrs Guru. These bricks were sourced from a Guangdong tea trader via Scott of YS. Sitting in Guangdong all these years has transformed this tea into something special.
This tea has developed a powerful savoury nature that can be admired. Notes of leather, smoke and camphor are taking centre stage. Texture is fairly smooth in the mouth. When pushed bitterness is present along with a kick of extra flavour. Slight honey tones and returning sweetness may be noticed. I prefer to stagger the infusions along lightly but you may wish otherwise. Any way you choose to sip this delightful number, it won’t give up easily.
If this tea had a Ripe Pu brother it would be the 1997 CNNP (just for comparison).
